"Spent a week with my daughter at Bigbury on Sea. First time she was taking surf classes with Discovery Surf School. Everyone was amazing! The classes were great fun! All the instructor was very nice and professional. They looked after the kids so well. I believe this is the new sport for my daughter! Thank you to all of you guys ! See you next year!"
"My sons 11 and 9 had a one to one surfing lesson with Ben and Noah yesterday. I just wanted to say how fantastic they both were, my boys had a brilliant time, both learnt to stand up. Noah took it completely in his stride that my 9 year old was deaf and was brilliant with him. What a credit your instructors are to your business. A big thank you to both of them."
"Such an amazing experience for my son and nephews. They had a private lesson with Gwill and he made them feel at ease straight away. After being shown how to use the board and a very thorough safety talk, their hour went very fast. Lots of laughter, moments of looking the part but it gave them so much confidence. So much so, we came back another day! Highly recommend. Thank you so so much Gwill."
"My friend and I had never surfed before and we had the best time! Right from booking Discovery Surf School were super friendly and helpful (even sending a text with parking instructions as they knew i didn't know the area). They had loads of wetsuits so finding one to fit was easy and the instructions were really helpful and enthusiastic even though we were the last session on a Friday. Gorgeous location too. We'll definitely be back : )"
"Discovery surf school has easily been the highlight of my holiday! I wrote a review after my first lesson but I am having to re write it now as I have been back three more times. You are greeted by smiles as soon as you step through the door and finding the correct equipment is quick and efficient.
I have had three different instructors, Kai, Jude & Gwill, and all were spectacular. I really recommend a one to one session to help get your technique up to scratch, make good progress and have so much fun!
Overall I can’t find anything negative with my experience as it’s possibly one of my favourite experiences ever.

I've been to surf classes in the past where the instructor just stands on the beach and offers no help whatsoever, but Meg was really good! She was great at giving tips and challenges!

"Just a quick note to say how much fun we had today, I know the waves weren’t great but everyone seem to make the most of it! I know we did! The instructors were all very lovely and a special thank you to you and the two lady instructors for helping me up on the board to catch a wave! I ended up in the sea but I was up for a few minutes and it made me day! Can’t wait till next time!"

Eva was absolutely fantastic with him and actually managed to get him past his nerves and onto a wave. The surf school was the highlight of their blustery week!"
“Had a fantastic time with my family at Discovery Surf in Bigbury! After meeting the friendly team at the shop, we got into our wetsuits (which was amusing!) and headed across the beach with instructors Harry and Grace. We had a quick how to and were straight in the water. Harry and Grace made sure each of us got onto our boards with confidence and all 7 of us managed to stand up! So much fun, I really recommend it, great to have bonding time together as a family. Felt safe in the water and the instructors were brilliant.”

Very friendly and informative tuition and had every faith that Harriet was in safe hands with Megan, it’s boosted her confidence massively (having been far too scared a year ago) to riding a wave. Both girls have asked if we can return before the summer's out - will be recommending you to other families visiting later in the summer."
"Opportunistic surf lesson whilst visiting Bigbury on holiday - 2 teens (16 & 14) received their first surfing lesson/experience. Grace was our group instructor and did a fab job of teaching them the basics and making sure they all had equal time/attention. Gear provided. We just turned up and memories made."
“This week Joe from Discovery Surf School gave myself and two daughters and SUP lesson and we got to paddle around Burgh Island. From the booking to the actual lesson the whole experience was really pleasant and the quality of the teaching great. I totally recommend Discovery Surf School.”
"Our two daughters (9 and 14) had a lovely private lesson with Eva. It was our second lesson this year and the girls love surfing with her. She makes the lesson great fun, she encourages and motivates and they make great progress. Martin and team also do a great job organising the whole experience. I recommend trying surfing lesson at Bigbury with this team."
"Rented a two person kayak and a Sup board whilst staying in Bigbury on sea. Prices were good and training was available at extra cost. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave advice. The sea was calm so had great fun falling in from the board which is far harder to use than it looks!"

"My family (2 adults & 2 teenagers) had a private family 2 hour lesson with Sophie. She was very friendly right from the start, even sharing sun cream with us which we hadn’t considered as the morning was overcast. Her instructions were easy to follow & she had the patience of a saint, not showing any signs of getting fed up even though I didn't manage to stand up on the board, ( the other 3 all did though). She was very encouraging for the whole of the 2 hour lesson & all of us would have other lessons with her. The equipment was all on good condition and we all thoroughly enjoyed it."

We all really enjoyed the time, it was worth every penny & as a first time surfer I’d wholly recommend this experience.
Both boys were standing up & Eva was a really friendly informative & professional tutor. I felt completely safe leaving the boys in her care in the sea. Thank you! I might not be cut out for surfing but we enjoyed it all the same!”
