Whitsand Bay Lessons

Discovery Surf School also provides lessons and courses at Tregonhawke Beach and Tregantle Beach, at beautiful Whitsand Bay in South East Cornwall.

This long stretches of sand at low/mid tide provides lots of space for great learning conditions, set to the back drop of Rame Head and the rugged Cornish coastline.

If you would like to book lessons with us at Whitsand Bay please call and we can let you know what availability we have.  We mostly teach here in the high season, though if you are looking to book in a group or would like a private lesson we can very flexible to suit your requirements.

For Tregonhawke Beach lessons we meet next to the Discovery Surf School vehicle at the top of the cliff (see map above marked X); either parked in the laybay next to the ‘Whitsand Bay Holiday Park' bus stop, or opposite the road in the car park on the corner of Military Road and Donkey Lane. We then walk down the cliff path to the beach in front of the Eddystone Cafe and do the lesson.

For Tregantle Beach, park either in the lay-by opposite the path entrance or in the council car park next to the Billy Bunter Burger Van. The meeting point will generally be right on the beach next to our 4 wheel drive, but sometimes it might be necessary to meet you at the top - we will confirm this at the time of booking.  

There is a regular bus route from Plymouth, Torpoint and Cawsand to Whitsand Bay, you need to get off at the Bus stop named ‘Whitsand Bay Holiday Park’, this is next to the path that leads down the cliff to Tregonhawke Beach. Phone 0870 6082608 for a timetable.  Car parking is available in a field opposite the Whitsand Bay Holiday Park. If you're staying in Looe its not too far to travel for a surf lesson.
