Beginner Lesson

This 2 hour lesson provides an introduction into surfing; including important information on beach safety and basic surfing knowledge.  You'll be catching waves, standing up and feeling 'stoked'! 

Age 6 upwards

1 Lesson: £38

Lessons are in groups with other pupils of the same level. The ratio of coaches to pupils in the water is a maximun of 1 to 6.

Groups of 6 or more receive a discount per person, Price: £32

Beginner Courses

With a beginner course you’ll learn all the essential’s, and also start developing your own surfing style as you learn more, practice and progress in the lesson - choose from 2, 3 or 4 lessons.

2 lesson course: = £70

3 lesson course: = £100

4 Lesson course: = £125*

Taster Session - £20

This 1 hour 'taster' lesson is great for those of you who simply want to dip your toes into the surfing experience.  As with the Beginner Lesson, you'll get the lowdown into beach safety and basic surfing knowledge, as well as guaranteeing you'll be up and riding!

Age 6 upwards.

The 1 hour session is also available if you have surfed with us before.

Supervised Practice Session - £20

This 2 hour surf is for practicing what you have learnt on our courses. You will still be under the watchful eye of our coaches to ensure your safety. 

Private Family Session - £125 (up to 4 people)

This private 2 hour surfing lesson is ideal for families who want to surf as a group together with their own coach.  All equipment is included in the price and it is £30 per head for additional people.

Improver Lesson - £38

This lesson is perfect for someone who has already been on a beginner course or a novice looking for some helpful tips.

With an improver lesson you can take your surfing to the next level; learn about how to ride unbroken waves, surf etiquette, surfing 'out the back', suitable equipment for yourself; about surf conditions and generally improve your surfing skills in a safe and fun environment. 

Discovery Surf Camp

New for 2011 is the Discovery Surf Camp based at Challaborough Bay.  

1 Day Surf Camp - £60 - 9:30am-3:30pm

2 Day Surf Camp - £115 – 9:30am-3:30pm

Includes ASI Surf Safety & Awareness Assessment/Certificate.

4 Day Surf Camp –  £195 - (9:30am-3:30pm)

Includes:  ASI Learn to Surf workbook +110% Surfing Techniques DVD + ASI Sea Safety and Awareness Certificate + ASI Surfing Certificate.

Advanced Surfing Lesson

These lessons are for surfers who are surfing regularly and have developed their surfing and confidence in the water over a number of years. For example in these lessons we would look to work on cutbacks, floaters or making bigger/steeper waves. 

Video anaylsis of your surfing is used to help explain coaching tips, using our water video or land based video camera's. Please contact us for availabilty and prices.

Private Surfing Lessons

With this lesson you'll have your own private coach for 2 hours - for complete beginners through to advanced surfers.

1 pupil = £90                2 pupils = £125

3 pupils= £160             4 pupils = £185

5 pupils = £200.

There is also an option to have a 1 hour lesson:

1 to 1: £49

1 to 2: £75

1 Hour Young Child Lesson

This one to one lesson is designed for children under 7 who may not have a great deal of water confidence or if they are weak swimmers but still want to give surfing a go.  The lesson is 1 hour long and the coach taking it will work closely with the child to ensure they have a fabulous time and come away stoked.

Kids Fun Hour

Pupils learn about sea safety and practice lifeguard training techniques; board paddling, beach flags game and buddy rescues using boards. Also a popular part of the lesson is using surfboards to a build a raft.  

This 1 hour lesson is sea based, but not in surf. 

This lesson also ticks off boxes in 'sea safety merit' in your BSA Junior surfer scheme log book (see above).

Age 6 to 14. £18 per child

The ratio for pupils to coach is a maximum of 8 to 1 for this lesson.

Refresher Lesson

The Refresher lesson is designed for those of you who have had lessons in the past and just need a quick 'top up'.  You have 30 minutes of tuition as a private lesson and then hire the equipment so you can go out and catch some waves by yourself for the next 2 hours.
