Participants with Disabilities Discovery Surf School has become renowned as a specialist centre for taking participants with disabilities (autistic, partially sighted, downs syndrome, physical disabilities for example). For the past 4 years we have been working with LifeWorks and Surf Relief, and have an annual surf event for autistic and other special needs children. As well as the event we also do lessons throughout the year for people with disabilities which is part funded - please contact us for more information. Recently we also did lessons with partially sighted and blind children. In the pictures here Rory is taking his first ever waves - an incredible feat as he is blind. | ![]() ![]() |

“We have used other surf schools before but Discovery Surf led the way as they are friendly, excellent with the kids and adults. They also understand children who need challenging and celebration of their individual successes. A fantastic week was had by all, a definite for next year.” Tom Menyana, Eggbuckland School teacher |
